Thor Ragnarok, Ragna-Rocks the House

Best film of 2017. Yes. Best Thor film. Yes. Best Marvel film. Yes. Best film ever. No but in my opinion probably in my top 15 films of all time. Marvel have just made Thor great and relevant again, one way by making him actually a God with powers and not just using Mjolnir (Thor’s Hammer) for once. Also by making Thor fun character not just an confused norse God that just throws his hammer around without hardly using any of his lightning God powers. This is easily Chris Hemsworth’s best performance as Thor and probably best overall, he makes the Thor character his own, when you think of your you picture it being Chris Hemsworth. You can easily tell that Thor Ragnarok tried to be like the Guardians of the Galaxy film, not by copying the story just by making it more funny, a retro style, a kick-ass soundtrack and having more comedic characters that are actually funny like Korg. They actually managed to pull it off and might have made it better than the guardians of the Galaxy, let's not get ahead of ourselves here they are both amazing films it's hard to say which one is best at the moment.

Thor, Loki, Bruce Banner/Hulk are already good characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but now with Thor Ragnarok they are great characters. The tension between Thor and the hulk has been building up to this and it did not disappoint. Their fight at the GrandMaster’s arena was incredible they both put up a good fight, Thor almost won when he used his Lightning God powers but the GrandMaster couldn’t let his champion lose so he stopped Thor. Also this is the longest screen time the Hulk/Bruce Banner has had in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so the Hulk/Bruce Banner has not had a lot of time for his character to grow. Due to being in Ragnarok Hulk now feels like he actually has a character instead of just being a big green monster that just smashes everything, not saying that was bad it is kinda what hulk is but I think is better that he has more of a personality about him now. Also now it’s even more clear that Bruce and the Hulk are totally different characters, which they already were but it’s more clear for the average audience that might not understand the characters.

Valkyrie,The GrandMaster, Hela and Korg, you can’t forget about Korg no one can he’s the best, are all new characters that were introduced for the first time in Thor Ragnarok and they are very memorable characters that all played big and important roles in the story. You’ve got Hela the Goddess of Death, which is also Thor’s Sister, that wanted to take over Asgard and kill anyone that opposes her which she actually did until Thor and the Revengers stop her. Hela will be back to be involved in a future story probably with Thanos and Thor which will be good to see her again. Then you got Valkyrie who is an Asgardian warrior that put up a good fight against Hela and her army of the dead. She will be a good addition to the team to help fight against Thanos. The GrandMaster was great, a grand performance from Jeff Goldblum himself, he was like a ringmaster and an entertaining for his crowds watching the shows at his arena. Korg was definitely the best new character in Thor Ragnarok. He was hilariously funny every time he was on screen, he stole the show, there are two things everyone talks about after watching Thor Ragnarok and they are how awesome the film was and that Korg is one of the best parts of the film. He was played by Taika Waititi the director of the film himself played one of the best characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If this is the way Marvel are wanting to do their films, or at least some of them, then they are only going to get better as they go on and I can’t wait for their next film. Also it has the best Stan Lee cameo out of all the Marvel movies. This cameo just basically clarified the theory that Stan Lee is a Watcher, a Watcher in Marvel is basically an almighty being that watches over worlds that they were assigned to make sure everything happens the way it should, which is why it’s so good. Overall Thor Ragnarok was great, all the characters were amazing, the acting was good and this is probably one of Marvel's best films in my opinion. Also Korg is the best.

Is It The Greatest Show man?

Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've been waiting for

The Greatest Showman is here, everybody drop to the floor

Hugh Jackman’s performance is something you can’t ignore

Taking your breath, stealing your mind

And all that is X-men is left behind

The greatest showman was in my opinion a good, enjoyable and fun film. The Music is great, the dancing is excellent and the acting is marvellous. Besides wolverine of course this might one of Hugh Jackman’s best roles and performances of his career with a surprising singing voice that is actually pretty good. It looks like we are going to still be greeting amazing portraits of characters that makes them come alive from Hugh Jackman since he has left the Wolverine at Professor Xavier’s School and I don’t think he will be leaving. Also for Zendaya's second big acting role in a mainstream film, the first being in Spider-Man Homecoming as Michelle/MJ which was good, she was quite good. The only disappointing bit from Zendaya in The Greatest Showman is that I would have liked her to have more big dancing scenes because she is a very talented dancer. Everyone like Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Keala Settle were great as well, all their performances are good and very talented musical performers.

The Story for The Greatest Showman is inspired by the true story of the real P.T. Barnum that was the real Greatest Showman of his time in 1840s. The story of the Greatest Showman followed the story of P.T Barnum quite closely they got a lot of things right in the right order of when it actually happened. For example the first person that he hired for his show was General Tom Thumb, the smallest person that ever walked alone according to P.T Barnum, and then he started to find more unique to star in his show. After his own show was a success he was able to meet Queen Victoria, who was amused by General Tom Thumb, while on his tour of England he also met Jenny Lind. Jenny Lind, the Swedish Nightingale, was one of the most popular singers in all of Europe so of course Barnum was going want to try and get her for his show and he did without hearing her sing first. Evan the fire that started in the Museum and that caused it to burn to the ground running the show, losing all if his money Barnum had to retire. That was until he partnered up with James Bailey and James L. Hutchinson and turned his show into a travelling circus doing tours around America. This wasn’t in the film they changed it to P.T Barnum making his own circus then having Phillip Carlyle take over The Greatest Show at the end. So most of the film did use Barnum's story but at times they did add in there own aspects, probably to make it more entertaining for the audience and some of the things Barnum did do they might have not wanted to put it in the film.

Golden Globe award for the best original song in a motion picture went to The Greatest Showman for the song This is Me by Justin Paul and Benj Pasek. This just shows already how good the soundtrack is, in my opinion I think this is definitely the best original soundtrack of 2017. The soundtrack definitely made the film better and it helped make the story flow a lot nicer as well. I amazed and surprised at how good Hugh Jackman was at signing. I would say that the 3 best songs from the film are Rewrite The Stars, The Other Side and The Greatest Show are my favourites in the film.

Citizen Kane (The Citizen Kane of Boring Films)

One of the greatest films of all time, a must see film for everyone or a masterpiece is what everyone thinks about Citizen Kane. So I decided to watch Citizen Kane for the first time today due to all the praise it gets. So when I learnt that I was going to be watching Citizen Kane I was excited to watch it. This film has a big reputation behind it from everyone saying how great this film is and film reviewers saying “ Citizen Kane is the greatest film of all time”. Due to all of the great reviews I was expecting to watch a new favourite film but ended up getting a disappointing experience instead.

Citizen Kane was one of the most boring films that I have ever seen in a long time. I was just wanting it to finish so I could go watch Thor Ragnarok instead, which was a much better film in my opinion. Although I didn't like Citizen Kane I do understand why people say it's a great film but it wasn't a film for me.Citizen Kane lost me about at least 20-30 minutes into the film, I don’t fully know why, I just lost all interest in the film. Maybe it was too slow without much things happening on screen for me or the amount of politics that was talked about which just went straight over my head

Also I didn't know what Citizen Kane was about before I watched it, I was going in with a new perspective on the film. I was not expecting it to mainly be about politics so I was lost though most of the film because I don't really understand or care about politics. Okay I do understand and I can see that it is a good film technically and I can see why people like it. For example the acting was excellent, story was great, script was strong and the sounds were good. Especially for the time it was made in which was in 1941 makes the film more of a masterpiece from what the people say.

There was nothing wrong with the film it's just that I didn’t enjoy the film. I will have to watch it again in the future to give it a second chance, I might enjoy it a second time around or I might not like it even more.

1.21 gigawatts worth of awesomeness

Back to the future definitely a classic film and one of the best, or the best, film trilogy ever made. The best part about the trilogy is that the second and third film just continue from the first, it’s all just one big film really that hardly any film has done. The best of the trilogy is obviously the first because it introduces time travel using the Delorean which is awesome,Introduces Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Dr Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) one of the best duos since Batman and Robin. Both Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd performed amazingly in Back to the Future probably their best, and most famous roles, they were perfect for Marty and Doc Brown. One the best things about Back to the Future is that is was the inspiration for Rick and Morty, without Back to the Future there would be no Rick and Morty. Just think about that. This just makes Back to the Future greater than it already was.

Scott Pilgrim Wins The World

Edgar Wright has done it again he has made another awesome film which just might be his best in my opinion. When I watch Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, I kind of feel like I'm on drugs. Not that I do drugs. Unless you do drugs, in which case I do them all the time. All of them. But no seriously Scott Pilgrim is a masterpiece of a film Edgar Wright did his best work making this. It has something for everyone so anyone can enjoy it. It has comedy, music, action, romance and game references which definitely gets the attention of their target audience.

Originally Scott Pilgrim vs the World was a graphic Novel written by Bryan Lee O’Malley that got turned into an awesome film. I have only read volume 1 of the book series and it was great I need to buy the rest of the collection, one day I will. The novels are supposed to be amazing some of the best graphic novels that haven’t came from DC or Marvel comics and I can’t wait to read them all one day. But enough about the graphic novels we are here to talk about the film which people say is actually better than the books or just as good for once and people will agree with this as well. The main story of the Scott Pilgrim vs the World is Scott Pilgrim is a Bass guitarist that plays in a Garage Band and is dating a high schooler, Knives Chau. Until Ramona Flowers comes skating into Scotts life and he can’t get her out of mind. Eventually he dumps Knives, asks out Ramona and she becomes his girlfriend. But if Scott wants to continue to date Ramona he will have to defeat her seven evil exes and have some of the greatest fight scenes ever. Spoiler Alert!! In the end Scott beats all of the evil exes and gets the girl.

Bang! Boom! Pow! Move over Batman vs Superman and Ironman vs Captain America. Your fights are boring and lame compared to Scott vs well all of the 7 evil exes because they are all great. One of the reasons why they are so good is because they use video game logic, which is definitely the best type of logic, that makes the fights way more entertaining. For example the first fight Scott had with Matthew Patel, that's when video game logic kicked in, he kicked Matthew into the air, did a flying uppercut and landed a 64 hit combo on him while still in the air. After that they both landed in a fighting pose and VS came into the middle of them to initiate the fight. I would say that Scott vs Lucas Lee might be my favourite fight because Lucas Lee is an A-list so he gets 7 of his stunt double to fight Scott and he knocks them all out easily while Lucas is getting a coffee. The ending was amazing the way Scott defeated Lucas which was by tricking him to do a grind down a rail that is over 200 stairs, Lucas went 309 KPH/192MPH and blew up in an explosion of XP and coins which was epic.

Definitely one of my favourite soundtracks of all time, it’s that good it’s the first vinyl that i bought when I got my turntable. The music works incredibly well with the story and it fits in perfectly. I could easily see the Sex Bob-Omb’s selling out concerts, having number hits and a huge fan base if they were a real band. Garbage Truck has got to be one of the best songs on the entire soundtrack if not then Threshold.

Everyone should at least watch Scott Pilgrim vs the World once especially college and university students, which is probably their demographic audience, because they will enjoy it and it might be their new favourite film.
